Why COED Exists
For many students in disadvantaged circumstances, education is both a beacon of hope and an unattainable goal. Often painted as the great equalizer and the key to open many doors of opportunities, education – most notably college and beyond – has increasingly become a privileged option for only the few. This is especially true in developing countries where education is buried beneath other pressing priorities like food, shelter and daily survival. Yet without education, the prospects for a better future are few or none at all thus creating sustained poverty and stagnancy for both the individual and the country.
Our Mission
COED was created to provide financial and professional support to deserving yet underprivileged students who could not otherwise afford higher education. This support will come in the form of a fellowship that includes a full scholarship at a college institution, followed by an externship or internship in the chosen field, and a lifetime access to a mentoring network of academes and professionals.
